Turkey Water Sports Holidays
Description  Sunshine, fair winds and friendly, welcoming people, make sailing in Turkey a real pleasure. Whilst tourism has touched areas of this fascinating country, much of Turkery's southern coastline remains completely unspoilt, with many of the beautiful spots still only accessible by boat. From our bases in Farmess, Bodrum, Orhaniye, Marmaris and Gocek we operate five flotillas and a range of yachts and catamarans from 33ft to 51ft. The Turkish cruising area stretches from Kekova in the east along the Lycian coast past Bodrum in the west, incorporating the Gulf of Gokova, the Dorian Gulf and the Gulf of Gulluk.

Wind and Sailing Conditions  Peak season is characterised by steady winds which alleviate the daily heat. July and August are most influenced by the local thermal winds which can pick up in the afternoons (generally blowing up from the northwest, tending to follow the coastline). Outside the peak months, the winds tends to be more gentle, with sea breezes during the day dropping to complete stillness in the evening. As conditions vary widely between cruising areas, we recoommend that you consult the Reservations Staff prior to booking.

Dining Ashore  Turkish ingerdients are fresh and plentiful and meals are reasonably priced and appetisingly presented. Starters tend to consist of cold vegetables and hot, tasty pastry dishes such as the popular borek, flaky pastry rolls stuffed with cheese, spinach or meat and deep fried. Main courses usually include charcoal grilled meats and fish or stews with lamb or beef. Keep an eye out for Circassian Chicken, cooed with herbs, bread and pounded walnuts which really make it delicious.
