French Polynesia Water Sports Holidays
Description  The Society Islands of Raiatea, Bora Bora, Tahaa and Huahine lie just a four or five hour sail apart, providing easy cruising in a stunning natural paradise. Dive into an underwater wonderland, swimming and snorkelling in lagoons teeming with tropical fish. Soak up the sophisticated atmosphere at many stylish resorts along the way or get back to nature, sipping from a delicious fresh opened coconut on the beach.

French Polynesia, situated right in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, consists of five island groups of volcanic origin; the Society Islands, the Marquesas, Tua Motu, Gambier and the Austral Ridge. The former Stardust base at Faaroa Bay lies on the southeast of Raiatea, the second largest island in French Polynesia and part of the Society Islands.

Wind and Sailing Conditions  Ideal sailing conditions can be experienced from April through to the end of October with sunny weather and good easterly trade winds..

Dining Ashore  Fish and shellfish are of course the main specialities here with tuna, lobster, mahi mahi and much more all cooked in the traditional Polynesian style of lime and coconut or vanilla sauce. Feast on fresh fish, wrapped in palm leaves, gently cooked on heated coals beneath the ground.Try the juicy pineapple, mango, papaya, guava, lychee and coconuts as well as ten varieties of local banana!
